This sound producing action is called stridulation. they chirp cause they are mackin on cricket chicks approx. 62 chirps a minute at 13°C in one common species. chirps depend on species and temperature omnivores and scavengers they are pets in Asia and considered good luck there		is a bat and ball team sport that was first documented in southern england in the 16th century the rules of the game are know as the Laws of Cricket bowlers, batsmen, and wickets, oh my! 11 players per team a match is played between two teams (or sides) of eleven players objective of each team is to score more "runs" than the other team and to completely "dismiss" the other team can only be played in dry weather

I hate crickets.
We get crickets sometimes in our basement and their annoying chirps go on all night long.
We also get cave crickets which don't chirp but are damn ugly.

I can't support a wierd version of baseball where the games (I think they call them matches) go on for days and where the batters look more like hockey goalies than batters...
